Types of Butterfly Valves What are the classifications of butterfly valves?

Butterfly valve can be divided into offset plate type, vertical plate type, inclined plate type and lever type according to the structure. According to the sealing method, it can be divided into specific sealing type and hard sealing type. Soft-seal butterfly valves are generally sealed with rubber rings, and hard-seal butterfly valves are generally sealed with metal rings. According to the connection method, it can be divided into flange connection and clamping connection. According to the transmission mode, it can be divided into manual, transmission gear, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric. Due to the wide variety of butterfly valves, the butterfly valve products used in unique working conditions are not the same, so for this kind of gate valve, you should choose it with the engineer alone! Butterfly valves can be divided into the following ways:
(1) Classification by structure: central sealing butterfly valve, single eccentric sealing butterfly valve, double eccentric sealing butterfly valve, triple eccentric sealing butterfly valve;
(2) Classification by connection method: clip-on butterfly valve, flange-type butterfly valve, lug-type butterfly valve, welding butterfly valve;
(3) Classification by operating temperature: high temperature, t450C butterfly valve. Medium temperature butterfly valve, 1200C
(4) Classification by sealing surface material
Soft Seal Butterfly Valve:
(1) The sealing pair is composed of non-metal soft plastic material to non-metal soft plastic material.
(2) The sealing pair is composed of metal hard material and non-metal soft plastic material.
Metal hard sealing butterfly valve: The sealing pair is composed of metal hard material to metal hard material.
(5) Classification by work pressure
1. Vacuum butterfly valve, the working pressure is lower than the standard stack atmospheric pressure butterfly valve.
2. Low pressure butterfly valve, butterfly valve with nominal pressure PN100MPa.
(6) Classification by sealing method
1. Forced sealing butterfly valve:
(1) Elastic sealing butterfly valve. The sealing specific pressure is caused by the valve plate pressing the valve seat when it is closed, resulting in the elasticity of the valve seat or valve plate.
(2) Additional torque sealing butterfly valve. The sealing specific pressure is generated by the torque in the gate valve shaft.
2. Pressurized sealing butterfly valve. The sealing specific pressure is formed by charging the elastic sealing element in the valve seat or valve plate.
Self-sealing butterfly valve. The sealing specific pressure is automatically generated by the material pressure.
